Kalorienbombe Alkohol – So viele Kalorien und so viel Zucker ist in deinem Drink

Do you want to eat lower in calories and with less sugar? Then you should also pay attention to what you drink.

What many people don't know is that alcoholic drinks are secret sugar and calorie bombs .

Especially in mixed drinks and cocktail creations, the number of calories and the sugar content increase due to sweet fruit juices, syrups or soft drinks.

A study by the Department of Health in Great Britain asked 2,000 people about alcohol.

Respondents were asked to estimate how many calories are contained in different alcoholic beverages. Four out of ten respondents were significantly wrong with their estimates.

Glass with alcohol is rejected by person

Have you ever wondered how much sugar and how many calories are hidden in your favorite drinks? Alcohol does not provide the body with any nutritional value, just a concentrated load of so-called “ empty calories ”.

Just 1 gram of pure alcohol contains 7 kcal. In quick comparison, 1 gram of sugar only has 4 kcal. If you mix your cocktails together, you can end up with a lot of calories and a lot of sugar in just one drink.

We have listed here how many calories are in different drinks.

So if you drink one or two drinks over the course of an evening, you'll add up quite a bit in terms of calories. In addition, alcohol stimulates the production of your stomach acid.

This whets the appetite for fatty and salty foods . You know it: after drinking alcoholic drinks in the evening, you quickly treat yourself to a fatty and high-calorie midnight snack. The calories shoot up even more quickly.

In addition to the calories that alcoholic drinks contain, the ethanol in them has a certain effect on the gastrointestinal tract and fat burning .

By inhibiting fat burning, the calories consumed can only be used very poorly. So if you want to lose weight, you should avoid excessive alcohol consumption.

It's not just people who want to achieve a fitness or weight loss goal that should take a closer look at the effects of alcohol.

People with diabetes in particular have to be particularly careful here. Even at a blood alcohol level of 0.45%, the body's natural sugar release by the liver is disrupted. The breakdown leads to hypoglycemia a few hours later - possibly despite the usual insulin dose.
